"Soon will the earth cover us all: then the earth, too, will change, and the things also which result from change will continue to change for ever, and these again for ever." Marcus Aurelius
Like these fleeting footsteps waiting to be washed away by the tide so are our own lives. . . perhaps they return to their own spiritual ocean. Is it only change itself which is a constant?

Someone was telling me recently that we are programmed from birth to recognise faces. Is that why we so often see faces in nature? We see them in the bark of trees, even in the patterns on carpets or wallpaper, we see them in rock formations and we see them in clouds. We each can see something different in the same picture, we each can imagine a different story from the same picture. I was listening to musician's music being played and in my imagination, conjured by the music itself, I 'saw' Viking warriors, dignified and aware as they walked purposefully through a forest. I told the musician that what was I felt his music represented. It wasn't. . . the music was about the secrets of Fairies. Have a look at the photo I have included, click on it and the picture is enlarged, see if there are any faces that 'speak' to you.
"A German philosopher once said, 'when you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks into you.' When two companions, both at one with nature, look into the abyss there is no fear. The abyss can only reach you if you let it, courage and awareness of self keep the fears at bay." From Rupert the Alaskan Malamute. (Polar bear tamer, sled puller and carrot cruncher).
